The area of the Dead Sea (400 m below sea level) is characterized by a specific local climate. The winter season is very mild, and the monthly precipitation amounts are very low. The summer season is particularly very hot, there is no precipitation within the months May to September. “Coldest” month is January, temperature values vary between 10°C and 20°C ( 50°F and 70°F ) daily. The months July and August are very hot, average daily temperature maxima are around 38°C ( 100°F ), on very hot days there are temperature maxima up to 50°C ( 120 - 125°F ) to expect. The relative humidity of the low polluted air is very low the whole year round, varying between 30 and 45 percentage. The area of the Dead Sea shows a very high sunshine duration. Due to the high air pressure and the high evaporation the UV radiation is weakened.
